Amber Hemphill, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Undergraduate: University of Northern Iowa

Post Graduate: Des Moines University

As clinicians, it is our responsibility to treat the patient and not just the disease as each person is unique.  One thing that I enjoy most about my role as a physician assistant is the opportunity to educate patients on their diagnosis, treatment options and potential outcomes.  My hope is that my patients leave their appointment with a firm understanding of their diagnosis and plan.

Amber grew up in Algona, Iowa.  From a young age, she developed a passion for medicine.  After completion of her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at The University of Northern Iowa in 2006, she attended Des Moines University where she graduated with a masters in Physician Assistant studies in 2008.  After graduation, she began working at Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons where she spent nearly ten years working primarily in the area of the spine, working in both surgery and the outpatient clinic setting.  She joined Central States Pain Clinic in August 2018.  She enjoys the complexity of pain management and enjoys educating patients on their conditions and treatment options.

Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with family and friends.  She enjoys exercising, boating, concerts, horseback riding and is an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
