Leslie grew up in Central Iowa and continues to live here. She graduated from Ames High School, Des Moines Area Community College and then Iowa State University. “Growing up in this area of the country instilled a strong and loyal commitment to family and community within me.”
Leslie joined CSPC in November 2017. The majority of her professional experience has been in emergency and urgent care medicine. Leslie also has worked in pediatric allergy/pulmonology, adult and pediatric oncology, and craniofacial medicine. She has an extensive background in education and a deep seeded passion for life-long learning. Leslie taught Human Anatomy and Physiology in the department of Zoology/Genetics at Iowa State University for 16 years. She has also taught nursing for Mercy College and Des Moines Area Community College. Leslie remains an active preceptor and mentor for nursing students.
“My philosophy while working in emergency medicine has always been one of trying to be the best part of someone else’s worse day. I hope to adapt that belief as I work in conjunction with people on decreasing the effects of pain while increasing their quality of life.”
Leslie loves spending time with her granddaughters and playing with her three dachshunds. She enjoys many activities such as swimming, and hiking.
She is excited to join the team and provide quality pain management care in a team environment.
